The Sims 4 - Houses

Now I have some time. So here's what I've been wanting to post for weeks. Game!

This year I have a pretty long summer holiday. My friend had been having fun playing the sims, with the mods and the sims that she made (pretty detailed characterisation and plot too), causing me and another friend, two ex-The Sims 2 player, to keep begging our own selves to play the game. Around that time, I had just updated my OS from one that can't run newer games to a newer OS. Embracing the opportunity, I finally decided to download The Sims 4.

We all know that The Sims is a simulation game where players can control sims and manage their lives. It can be a pretty random game too, like how sims can literally die of shame and laughter, funny furniture description, and even funny loading screen! Although it's supposed to be played as a life simulation, I play it more as a house design software.

I mean, I'm not an architect, nor am I planning to be one. However, I find satisfaction in finishing a good house, especially those which either defies the laws of physics (floating houses! YEAH!) or look a little more like the pretty houses I saw on the road. I like creating floating houses more though. After all, you won't see them around any time soon, right?

I've made several floating and underwater houses. Underwater house is a little less than my expectation, since there's no elevator or spiral stairs which I really like. Floating house, though, is a lot like my liking. I made one really good floating house once, which I'd be really glad to post here. Unfortunately... I accidentally deleted the game the next day... I know, what a shame! I really REALLY liked that one house! I guess I should try to recreate it some other day.

There's one that I'm proud of, created before I uninstalled the game, so it's gone now. It's a floating park (yes, I really have a thing for floating things). Honestly, I was inspired by the movie Castle in the Sky and the game Gravity Rush. I had wanted to make some kind of city in the sky, with shops and houses, but then the lot wasn't big enough and I don't really know how shops work in The Sims 4, so I ended up making a park. There's a garden the with a fountain in the middle. The fountain is supposed to be something like the one in Auldnoir, a part of Hekseville in Gravity Rush. There's also a tree on the very top, something like the huge one in Laputa, the Castle in the Sky, although it's not nearly as big.

A more normal house
Swimming Pool!

Another one is a more normal house. I like houses with stone-ish walls and wood, basically simple modern style. I ended up making one, beautiful on the outside but will probably be meh on the inside, since I'm even worse at interior design. Everything was fine but then.... I wanted to make a floating gazebo. I just can't help! I deleted it, though. It totally ruined the whole thing. Nevertheless, I'm pretty proud of this one.

Lastly, a house with a garden inside.
Ignore the dino standing on the back
Yay garden!

This one has my favourite idea: two floor bedroom! I might make more of this kind of room later, even though climbing the stairs would be super tiring in real life... but this is not real life, so I couldn't care less.

There are many more features that I wish this game had, like terrain sculpting, making new worlds, stage, more fences and gates, elevators, spiral stairs, round roofs, round walls, and more. I do like the move house, move lot, and fountain tool. It's also nice that I can resize rooms, wall, and fences. I'd love to see more features added (especially those that allow me to build even more impossible houses).

For the time being, I'll just try to be satisfied with the houses that I made and make more good ones when I have the time.

That's all for today, since I'm sleepy. See ya!
